Article: A Fresh Vision

By Rev. B.E. Hale, District Superintendent

I constantly think about the Church of Jesus Christ and how we are definitely in the season of harvest. The technology explosion has sent to us a "tsunamis" of information that is so astronomical no one knows what to do with it all.

This Information Age has isolated people, causing them to retreat into a "cyber-world" in order to cope with present day problems, but it leaves everyone with a deficit of social contact because of the high tech/little touch environment of today's electronic world. God made us to be social creatures, and in order to satisfy that need, people are looking for ways to network with other people. This is the environment in which the end-time church finds itself. This is our day for harvest!

Matthew 13:39 says the time of the harvest is the end of the age (world). The process of harvest is given by Jesus: "For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately He putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come" (Mark 4:28, 29).

The first thing mentioned is the blade (that comes from the earlier planting of the seed), then the ear (after the process of time), and after that the full corn in the ear (the harvest by the church). Then the sickle of judgment will come, as it is written in Revelation 14:15, and our work will be over.

My vision for the Colorado District is that we stay focused on revival, on faith in God, on honoring and respecting one another as God's chosen for this hour, and on working together toward the common cause that God has given us. If we do these things, we can see the greatest revival this district has ever seen!

Do you remember the principal: "One shall put a thousand to flight, and two shall put ten thousand to flight?" That speaks of the unity of purpose for the greater cause of growing God's kingdom. You can see how desperate the enemy is to divide homes, bring discord to churches, and isolate preachers into groups of discontent and disillusions.

Let's lift up Jesus and make Him the central One and make His cause our very own. Every city, town, and community needs a lighthouse of truth. The Lord of the Harvest has put us on His "team" for this district. May He receive all Glory and Honor from us who are so privileged to serve in this awesome hour.

Bro. Hale was elected District Superintendent in May 2006 after a two-year leave from the office. He has pastored Landmark Tabernacle in Denver the last three decades and has been married to Brenda Hale for over 35 years. They have two daughters and five grandchildren.
