Departments

Foreign Missions

The important work of coordinating and promoting Foreign Missions in our District is headed by Rev. Rodney Garner, who has a burden to see that UPCI Missionaries receive the support they need, and that our District continues in the vision of prayer and financial support for our Missionaries. He has served in this capacity since 2001. Bro. Garner is also the pastor of the First United Pentecostal Church of Security, a role he has filled since 1969.

Home Missions

Rev. Derwood Tate was elected Director of Home Missions in 2007. Bro. Tate's fresh vision for missions in the State of Colorado includes starting new churches and daughter works. He previously served as Presbyter of Section 3 and before that as the District Sunday School Director. He also serves as pastor of The Upper Room United Pentecostal Church, located in downtown Denver.

Spanish Ministries

Rev. Juan Acuna serves as the District Spanish Ministries Director, which is a part of the Home Mission Department. He has a vision for unity and progress among our Spanish speaking congregations, and for continued outreach to the Spanish speaking community in Colorado, as well as for Spanish speaking daughter works in as many congregations as possible. Brother Acuna is also the pastor of Torre Fuerte UPC in Denver, and Presbyter of Section 3.

Sunday School

Rev. Afton Bradley leads the Sunday School department. He previously served as Sunday School Secretary for several years before being appointed and then elected the Director. Brother Bradley and his wife are faithful members of First UPC in Security, Colorado.

CDYM: Youth Ministries

Rev. Tony Bohrer, pastor of Apostolic Lighthouse in Craig, was elected District Youth President in 2008. Previously, he has served as Youth Director for Section 1 and then as District Youth Secretary. He is married to Shannon Bohrer, and they have one child.

Men's Ministries

Under the leadership of Rev. Terry Plummer, the Men's Ministries Department continues to hold the successful annual Men's Retreat. The YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park is the site of this annual conference. Bro. Plummer is assisted by Rev. Robert Kerley, Rev. Juan Acuna, and Rev. Marney Turpin. Bro. Plummer is also the pastor of Rangeview Worship Center in Longmont.

Ladies Ministries

Mrs. Debra Cantu is the Colorado District Ladies Ministries President. She was elected to this position in 2004. Sis. Cantu, a resident of Black Forest, is also a pastor's wife, mother of three and a "Grammi" of two.
